DRINK WATER, NOT SUGAR

Design Excellence — and Great Taste, Too!

hintwater1.jpgimages-27.jpeg

This post from The Die Line, a blog devoted to celebrating great examples of commercial design, has some excellent praise for HINT and the iconic bottles that typify the brand. The site is definitely worth your attention because it showcases companies and specific products that advance the concept of genuine craftsmanship. Put another way, packaging matters: businesses that place a premium on design, for which HINT is a notable example, express respect for their consumers and the public in general. Beauty is both an artistic goal and a sound business idea. That’s the essence of HINT. Cheers!

Insight from Team HINT

hint3.jpg20080825__biz_insight_08261_viewer.jpg

Please read this insightful article from The Salt Lake Tribune about the team behind the success of HINT, Kara and Theo Goldin. The highlights are below. Cheers!

When did you decide to hire your husband, Theo, and why?
Right away. We both had our share of the corporate world: Theo as a legal executive at Netscape and me as an AOL executive. When I was still working at AOL, I realized that simple, all-natural foods were popping up in stores, but in the beverage aisle there was no good alternative to the juice and soda my family was drinking. When I launched HINT Water in 2005, I needed my husband’s know-how. He brings operational and legal expertise to the day-to-day business management of HINT.

What are the advantages of hiring a spouse?
The advantages definitely outweigh the disadvantages. We know so much about each other and how each other works that it makes internal processes for the company that much easier. Our personalities that brought us together in the first place have made us tremendous business partners. We have common goals for the company and our family so we rarely disagree on the direction of HINT. One of the disadvantages is that we don’t get to spend as much time together with our four children as we would like because we are constantly working together.

How are disagreements handled, and who has the final say?
As CEO, I have the final say. However, I do refer to my husband for his input and advice on most decisions. When disagreements arise, it is important to both of us that we listen to each other’s sides of the argument and decide which is best. We also have an incredible staff that we refer to if we need additional input.

Describe ways couples can best juggle their home and business relationships.
We have learned it is best to leave work out of our home as much as possible. We like to pick a time at night when there is no mention of work. We keep an open flow of communication. If I don’t like how Theo handles something, I have no problem telling him. If you hold onto your thoughts and emotions, they will just build up and become bigger issues down the line.

Sports Nutrition Living: A Great review

hint2.jpg26-miles.jpg

Sports Nutrition Living says it so well. So very well. Cheers!

HINT has no preservatives or artificial sweetners and the list of ingredients on this strawberry kiwi flavor is as followed: purified water with strawberry, kiwi and other natural flavors!… and 0 calories.
I had first bought the mango flavor at target and and was so suprised when I drank it because at first sip it just takes like water but than you get this burst of sweet flvor it is soooo good… they have a bunch of different flavors like pomegranete tangerine and berry lime… definatly go out and try it! I also found it at a local health food store.

Cool Mom Picks. Hint Water: Totally Indulgent and Yet Totally Calorie Free

hint1.jpgimages-23.jpeg

This post from Cool Mom Picks is simply amazing. Amazing!

Have you tried Hint Water yet? You have to. You just totally have to.

Take it from me, because I’m not a flavored water fan. Mostly I think water is pretty darn good, and it doesn’t need a whole lot of flavoring. But Hint Water–all natural, no sweeteners, lots and lots of flavors, and boy do I like it.

The lime water actually tastes like lime in water (take a hint, Coca Cola!) and I could carry that cucumber water around all day long. It reminds me of something you’d be served at some high end SoCal restaurant or at a schmancy spa. In fact, I totally just want to lie back and have someone massage my feet every time I open a bottle. Sadly, it never happens.

Life’s A Photo — and HINT!

hint.jpgimages-21.jpeg

Many thanks for this post from Life’s A Photo for finding HINT in the Yucatan! Refreshment in a great locale. Cheers!

Better than Smart/Vitamin Water because it’s zero sugar!

If you are in need of hint water while you are living/vacationing in the Yucatan, you can find it at the Greenery store located inside Sport City (across from Plaza Las Americas).

FRANGRY Says It Best

hintwater4.jpgfrangry420_black.gif

A very fun post from Frangry, a site that celebrates HINT and other great stuff.

“Drink water, not sugar” is the mantra of Hint Inc., a conscious beverage company whose goal is simple: to make a simple drink that tastes good. It’s a fresh break from all of the “functional waters” on the line that promise all but the meaning of life.

Although my go-to flavor has been Cucumber–it’s crisp, refreshing, and just plain delicious–I am excited to try the recently-announced four new flavors: Hibiscus Vanilla, Watermelon, Blackberry, and Watermelon.

Kudos to Josh Spear

Kudos to Josh Spear for these delicious comments (see below).

Hint Water in honeydew-hibiscus is by far the most refreshing thing I’ve had this summer. The flavored water has debuted a new bottle design, as well as four new tastes: honeydew-hibiscus, blackberry, hibiscus-vanilla, and watermelon.

Yummy-licious! Love for HINT

hint-waters-for-blog.pnglogo-1.gif

Major kudos to Yummy Diet Food for this great post about HINT.

The fruit flavor is very subtle, but yummy enough to help me easily drink my 8 cups of water per day. I really like drinking Hint water when it is refrigerated versus warm. Hint water comes in a ton of flavors (you can check out the Hint website to see a complete list) of which my personal favorites are pear and strawberry kiwi.
